Peninsula Locals Invited to Vie for "King / Queen of the Hill"
to Raise Funds for Non-Profits

Peninsula residents and business representatives have a new opportunity to give back to the community, by running for "King of the Hill" or "Queen of the Hill." Through the campaign, which runs from September 15 until November 18, candidates raise funds for local non-profit organizations which sponsor them. The candidate raising the most funds will be declared "King of the Hill" or "Queen of the Hill" for one year, and will represent their sponsoring non-profit organization(s) and the Peninsula community at local events.

The campaign is a unique and fun way for candidates and their sponsoring non-profit organizations to raise funds and to get exposure for the organizations' programs and services. Candidates must be 21 or older and reside on the Palos Verdes Peninsula (Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes and unincorporated areas on the Peninsula), work on the Peninsula or be a PVP Chamber member; and be sponsored by one or more non-profit organizations who are members of the PVP Chamber of Commerce. Eighty percent of each candidate's net revenue will go to their sponsoring organization. Twenty percent will be retained by the Chamber to support their many community service programs, scholarships and events.
