Rolling Hills Estates
The City of Rolling Hills Estates incorporated in 1957 to preserve its unique rural residential atomosphere and equestrian lifestyle, the City of Rolling Hills Estates encompasses 4.18 square miles of hilly terrain on the northern side of the Peninsula, has more that 25 miles of scenic trails, 36 acres of open space, and operates six parks. Rolling Hills Estates offers its residents a temperate climate cooled by westerly sea breezes, reating idyllic weather conditions.
With a population of approximately 8,000, Rolling Hills Estates has its own tennis club and equestrian center and provides a variety of seasonal recreational and instructional classes and activities for all ages. In addtion to the many services offered, the City also hosts a numbr of special community events such as the annual City Celebration, the HIlls Are Alive Race, the Tracy Austin Doubles Tournament, and the Peninsula Holiday Parade.
Also a complete shopping, entertainment and dining destination, Rolling Hills Estates is considered the center of commerce on the Peninsula- often referred to as the "Heart of the Peninsula" - and boasts a mile long shopping area which includes impressive open-air shopping plazas such as Peninsula Shopping Center and Promenade on the Peninsula, featuring a state-of -the-art movie theatre, an ice rink, popular national retailers, and local merchants.
